Summary[]
The task was presented on the table in the lab. While Alex was cooking mushrooms, the contestants had to "shorten" the red and blue pencils using the time they had mention Alex's mushroom-designed chef hat and then put the pencils in the pencil case.
Later on, they have to rewrite what they have said on the first task, but must use both colours on the pencil on the same number of words as another colour, otherwise their word count total will be halved.
Performance[]
Fatiha El-Ghorri: Fatiha had 3 minutes to complete the first task and use the mechanical sharpener on both pencils.
Fatiha at one point realised that she have to write in different colour, so she double written her written words using the other coloured pencil. She got 22 words correct, receiving 4 points.
Jason Mantzoukas: Jason had 2 minutes to complete the first task and use the electric sharpener on both pencils.
Jason mistakenly copied the words from the second task before he realised his mistake with the word "BEFORE", so he used the sandpaper to erased his mistake, ripping his paper in the process. He got 17 words correct after penalty, receiving 3 points.
Mathew Baynton: Mathew had 4 minutes to complete the first task and use the mechanical sharpener on one pencil and sandpaper on another.
Mathew only remembered the word "Mushrooms", guess onwards and trying to write his sentence with both hands in alternate colours. He got 7 words correct after penalty, receiving 1 points.
Rosie Ramsey: Rosie had 3 minutes to complete the first task and use the mechanical sharpener on one pencil and sandpaper on another.
Rosie thought of a mushroom gag and disregarded the word "haha" as a word. She got 29 words correct, receiving 5 points.
Stevie Martin: Stevie had 5 minutes to complete the first task and thought she have to make it "shorter" by snapping them with her teeth, breaking it into one short pencil lead.
Due to her unusable pencils, she realised that she can use her nail varnish to create another colour. She got 9.5 words correct after penalty, receiving 2 points.
Trivia[]
Behind the Scenes[]
- It was mentioned that this is the first task the contestants was being given on their first day during recording.
- The contestants could have written the first task word for word for an extra twenty-five words. Jason began writing the second task down, but not the first.
- Something was written on the back of the first task, however it was never addressed what it was. A similar thing occurred in the Get the biggest thing through the doughnut task in New Year Treat I.
