Taskmaster Wiki

Work out who is following you was a task featured on Series 17 of Taskmaster, as the second task in Some impropriety? The task was won by Joanne McNally.

Setup[]

Location Kennel Farm
Equipment Duck, bonnet hat, golf trolley
Measurement Most paces away from the duck

Summary[]

The task was presented on the spot in front of a tent. The contestants, wearing a bonnet, had to take steps towards to the duck every time it quacked, and ask a question to figure out who or what was following them, hiding in the tent. They could ask yes or no questions, and the character answered with names of a mammal (YES), bird (NO), or amphibian (ambiguous).

The most paces away from a duck positioned in front of them before a correct answer was found wins. The character following them was Mr. Blobby riding a golf trolley.

Performance[]

Joanne McNally: Joanne struggled to figure out what the animals named were, as she had no idea what an amphibian was. She initially guessed the character was the Eiffel Tower, then asked if she could get inside it. She guessed Mr. Blobby immediately, but assumed the reply of "donkey" was an amphibian and kept on walking until she guessed it again. She made her first correct guess 26 paces away from the duck, receiving 5 points.

John Robins: John was confused when the character claimed to be male with/out genital but not human, animal, robot, and "cable," and ended up spelling out its name. He guessed Mr. Blobby by 19 paces away from the duck, receiving 4 points.

Nick Mohammed: Nick got confused and kept asking seemingly random questions until he arrived by the duck, struggling to figure out who it was. He finally guessed Mr. Blobby by guessing which BBC channel it was on. He received 2 points.

Sophie Willan: Sophie kept asking seemingly random questions until she arrived by the duck. But when she wanted to carry the duck, she accidentally looked back and caught a glimpse of Mr. Blobby, so she was disqualified from the task.

Steve Pemberton: Steve casually asked questions and later spelled out its name, but falsely guessed Mr. Bojangles. He guessed Mr. Blobby correctly by 15 paces away from the duck, receiving 3 points.
