Taskmaster Wiki

Work out how many balls are in the basket was a task featured on Series 10 of Taskmaster, as the fourth task in Air Horn Andy. The task was won by Daisy May Cooper.

Setup[]

Location Taskmaster House
Equipment Basket, ball pool balls, ping-pong balls, bouncy balls, ball bearings in a match box
Timing 4 minutes
Measurement Closest to the correct answer

Summary[]

The task was presented atop a basket of balls. The contestants had to work out how many balls were in the basket. They had to make their guess in the four minutes and when all the balls were in the basket. Inside of the matchbox containing ball bearings, the answer was written, which was: 1,192 balls.

Performance[]

Daisy May Cooper: Daisy counted the top layer of balls into baking trays to calculate her answer. She guessed 555 balls, receiving 5 points.

Johnny Vegas: Johnny immediately emptied the basket of balls onto the floor, finding the smaller balls and a matchbox containing ball bearings. Despite guessing 1,100 balls, as not all of the balls were in the basket at the end of his attempt, he was disqualified from the task.

Katherine Parkinson: Katherine initially attempted to guess the amount of balls at 500 balls, before removing them from the basket with 1 minute to spare, finding the ping-pong balls. She guessed 498 balls after getting Alex to help her put the balls back into the basket after her time ended, but she still missed one ball so was disqualified from the task.

Mawaan Rizwan: Mawaan tried to estimate the answer, accounting for the "heapedness" of the balls so added a "heapage contingency" to his calculations. He guessed 162 balls, receiving 3 points.

Richard Herring: Richard tried counting the balls, thinking there was a massive one in the middle. He guessed 395 balls, receiving 4 points.
