Tim Key is an English actor, writer and performance poet. He won the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2009. He is best known for his stand-up and regularly has shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He took part in the 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show The Taskmaster, and the 2011 the Edinburgh Festival Fringe show Taskmaster II.

In 2015, Key appeared on Series 1 of Taskmaster, finishing in fourth place with 88 points. He was the guest on episodes 14, 73 and 94 of Taskmaster The Podcast and episode 24 of Taskmaster: The People's Podcast.

Since series one, Key has worked with Alex Horne as a Task Consultant.

2 Get the lowest golf score using eggs. You must complete the 5 holes using chicken eggs. You score will be calculated as follows: Shots x eggs x minutes. 3
3 Team: Stage a realistic blooper from a home movie. 2
4 Make the best meal for the Taskmaster using ingredients beginning with every letter of the alphabet. 3
5 Live: Wearing boxing gloves, put the blue sweets in the empty bowl. Non-blue sweets will be subtracted from your total. 5

Trivia[]

  • In his series, Tim was the only contestant to win a task every single episode.
  • Despite coming in fourth, Tim won the most amount of tasks alongside Josh Widdicombe, with 10 in total.
  • Tim won the very first prize task and first live task.
  • Tim is one of the few contestants to make a cameo in the show after they appeared. He appeared in the Series 4 episode Tony Three Pies., as part of Noel Fielding's attempt at the task "Do something surprising with this rubber duck", where he played the celebrant at Noel's wedding to the duck.
