30 of the 191 episodes of Taskmaster have finished with tiebreakers. 29 of them decided an episode winner, and one of them decided a series winner. There have been 26 two-way ties and 4 three-way ties. The first tie was in the first episode, Series 1's Melon buffet. The greatest number of ties in a single series was three, in Series 4, Series 10 and Series 16, and the least is zero, in Series 2, Series 3 and Series 14. Joe Lycett and Sue Perkins are the only contestants to win two tiebreakers, while Romesh Ranganathan, Lou Sanders, Mawaan Rizwan and Chris Ramsey are the only contestants to lose two tiebreakers. Romesh, Aisling Bea and Sanjeev Bhaskar are the only contestants to appear in a tiebreaker yet never win an episode. Series 20 is the only series to have a tiebreaker to determine the series champion.
Series 1[]
- The episode Melon buffet. (#1) had Frank Skinner and Romesh Ranganathan finishing on 19 points. The tiebreaker was to find Alex the fastest, and Frank won.
- The episode The poet and the egg. (#3) had Josh Widdicombe and Romesh Ranganathan finishing on 22 points. The tiebreaker was to guess Frank Skinner's age in minutes, and Josh was closest.
Series 4[]
- The episode Hollowing out a baguette. (#3) had Joe Lycett and Noel Fielding finishing on 19 points. The tiebreaker was to decant the most wine from an umpire chair onto a bottle on the floor, and Joe Lycett won.
- The episode Meat. (#5) had Hugh Dennis and Mel Giedroyc finishing on 21 points. The tiebreaker was to eat the most peas in one minute, and Hugh Dennis won.
- The episode No stars for naughty boys. (#7) had a three-way tie, with Hugh Dennis, Joe Lycett and Lolly Adefope finishing on 20 points. The tiebreaker was to open a jar of mayonnaise covered in Vaseline the fastest, and Joe Lycett won by opening the jar before reading the task (so finishing with a time of 0 seconds).
Series 5[]
- The episode Residue around the hoof. (#4) had Aisling Bea and Mark Watson finish on 24 points. Their tiebreaker was to throw a picture of a Swede behind their back into a bin in the fewest attempts, and Mark Watson won.
- The episode Spoony Neeson. (#6) had Bob Mortimer and Sally Phillips finish on 18 points. Their tiebreaker was to kick a pot of yoghurt onto a target, and get the most yoghurt in the middle of the target. Sally Phillips won. Mark Watson's unused attempt was released on YouTube as an outtake.
Series 6[]
- The episode The old soft curved padlock. (#1) had Alice Levine and Russell Howard finish on 18 points. Their tiebreaker was to spin around as many times as possible before kicking a football at a caravan. Both successfully kicked the football, but Alice Levine took more spins and won.
- The episode What kind of pictures? (#8) had Liza Tarbuck and Russell Howard finish on 17 points. Their tiebreaker was to receive a text message the quickest, and Russell Howard won.
Series 7[]
- The episode My eyes are circles. (#2) had Jessica Knappett and Kerry Godliman finish on 23 points. Their tiebreaker was to guess the number on Alex's forearm, and Kerry Godliman was the closest.
- The episode OLLIE. (#4) had James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert finish on 17 points. Their tiebreaker was to make a paper plane from a loo roll that could fly the furthest, and Rhod Gilbert won.
Series 8[]
- The episode Hello. (#1) had Iain Stirling and Lou Sanders finish on 20 points. Their tiebreaker was to peel a banana with their feet, and Iain Stirling was the fastest.
- The episode The barrel dad. (#4) had Joe Thomas, Lou Sanders and Sian Gibson finish on 15 points. Their tiebreaker was to whip a bottle off a barrel from behind a rope, and Sian Gibson was the fastest.
Series 9[]
- The episode Think about the spirit. (#10) had Ed Gamble and Rose Matafeo finish on 12 points. Their tiebreaker was to keep one of the pop-up toys down for the longest using one of the spreads, which was achieved Ed Gamble.
Series 10[]
- The episode A documentary about a despot. (#2) had Katherine Parkinson and Richard Herring finish on 19 points. Their tiebreaker was to select a wind-up dinosaur to travel the furthest distance without falling off the table, and Katherine Parkinson won.
- The episode Legit glass. (#7) had Johnny Vegas and Mawaan Rizwan finish with 16 points. Their tiebreaker was to work out how many sheets of loo paper was on the roll, and Johnny Vegas won.
- The episode Dog meat trifle. (#10) had Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring finish with 17 points. Their tiebreaker was to guess how many green eggs were under the Taskmaster's chair. Richard's guess was the closest, so he won.
Series 11[]
- The episode Absolute casserole. (#6) had Jamali Maddix and Mike Wozniak finish with 17 points. Their tiebreaker was to fire the most rubber bands into Alex's bum bag, and Jamali Maddix managed more.
Series 12[]
- The episode A couple of Ethels. (#8) had Alan Davies and Guz Khan finish with 21 points. Their tiebreaker was to blow a feather across the table by only using their nose. The task was won by Alan who was faster than Guz.
Series 13[]
- The episode Shoe Who. (#4) had Ardal O'Hanlon and Chris Ramsey finish with 17 points. Their tiebreaker was to turn over as many beermats as possible in 30 seconds. The task was won by Ardal, who turned over more than Chris.
- The episode The 75th question. (#6) had Chris Ramsey and Sophie Duker finish with 15 points. Their tiebreaker was to sing "I've won" in a low voice and "this tiebreak" in a high voice, with the greatest vocal range winning. The task was won by Sophie.
Series 15[]
- The episode A yardstick for failure. (#10) had Jenny Eclair and Mae Martin finish with 18 points. Their tiebreaker was to scream the loudest with their mouth closed. The task was won by Jenny.
Series 16[]
- The episode Hell is here. {#2) had Sue Perkins and Susan Wokoma finish with 19 points. Their tiebreaker was to learn pi to the most decimal places. The task was won by Sue.
- The episode Dynamite chicks. (#4) had Lucy Beaumont and Sue Perkins finish with 18 points. Their tiebreaker was to tut the loudest. The task was won by Sue.
- The episode I'm off to find a robin. (#7) had Lucy Beaumont and Sam Campbell finish with 14 points. Their tiebreaker was to fire the contents of a party popper the furthest in the studio. The task was won by Lucy.
Series 17[]
- The episode Grappling with my life. (#1) had a three-way tie. Joanne McNally, John Robins, and Steve Pemberton finish with 18 points. Their tiebreaker was to find out which chess piece was not inside a peas chest. The task was won by Steve.
Series 18[]
- The episode Big stupid things. (#5) had Emma Sidi and Jack Dee finish with 19 points. Their tiebreaker was to work out how many days old Alex will be on Christmas Day 2024. The task was won by Emma.
Series 19[]
- The episode Maybe we're the monsters. (#5) had Jason Mantzoukas and Rosie Ramsey finish with 17 points. Their tiebreaker was to Make as many holes in this sheet of paper as possible whilst only using the hole punch once. The task was won by Jason.
Series 20[]
- The episode Hey mate. (#4) had Ania Magliano and Sanjeev Bhaskar finish with 19 points. Their tiebreaker was to remove a shower cap by inflating the balloon. The task was won by Ania.
- The episode Supping from the fountain. (#10) had Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam and Phil Ellis all finish the series with 151 points. To determine the series champion, their tiebreaker was to guess How many letter Ts are there in the portrait of Alex and Greg in the living room? As she was the closest, Maisie won the task and the series.
