Taskmaster Wiki

Sit on the red chair in the secret tower was a task featured on Series 12 of Taskmaster, as the fourth task in A chair in a sweet. The task was won by Desiree Burch.

Setup[]

Location All Saints Pastoral Centre and Chapel
Equipment Shredder, circles, red chair
Measurement Fastest wins

Summary[]

The task was presented on piles of red and black circles. The contestants had to sit on the red chair in the secret tower. They could only travel on circles, but could not stand on a red circle more than once. They could stand on a black circle twice, but not twice in a row. They had to shred the task within the first minute. If they made a mistake, they had to restart the task.

Performance[]

Alan Davies: Alan collected all the circles after shredding the task, at one point forgetting the red chair, before heading to the tower, thinking he had to climb the tower. He sat on the red chair in 5 minutes and 37 seconds, receiving 3 points.

Desiree Burch: Desiree initially went to get the red chair but ran out of time to get to the shredder. She then shredded the task first before getting the red chair and heading to the tower. She sat on the red chair in 3 minutes and 5 seconds, receiving 5 points.

Guz Khan: Guz got the chair after shredding the task and forgot what he had to do, intentionally making a mistake so he could restart and see another task. He sat on the red chair in 6 minutes and 45 seconds, receiving 2 points.

Morgana Robinson: Morgana decided to slide on the circles and shredded the task, immediately jumping off the circles. She then restarted the task and realised she had to sit on a chair, adopting her sliding technique to complete the task. She sat on a chair in 3 minutes and 45 seconds, receiving 4 points.

Victoria Coren Mitchell: Victoria didn't have her glasses on so, after shredding the task, immediately headed to the secret tower, unaware that there was a chair for her to pick up. After searching for a chair in a balloon and in a chair inside of a sweet, Victoria decided to stack red circles and sit on it, arguing that if it was red and she could sit on it then it was a red chair. She sat on the "red chair" in the slowest time (11 years and 11 months in Alex's odd system where 1 hour was the average life of a human), receiving 1 point.

Trivia[]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • Victoria questioned if there was "A chair in a sweet", the episode's name.
  • The shredder has googly eyes on it, presumably a reference to Noel Fielding's prize task for Meat.
