Taskmaster Wiki

Show off one of your five senses was a task featured on Season 2 of Taskmaster Australia, as the second task in Everyone here is a nerd. The task was won by Jenny Tian.

Summary[]

The task was presented on the office table, leaning against a Mr Potato Head. The contestants had to show off their sense of sight, sound, smell, taste or touch. If two or more people picked the same sense, they would each lose 2 points.

Performance[]

Anne Edmonds: Anne showed off her vision by having Tom hide the Mr Potato Head in the office for her to find. She found it within 20 seconds 3 out of 5 times, or 60% of the time, receiving 2 points.

Jenny Tian: Jenny showed off her taste by preparing a selection of things to taste while blindfolded. She correctly identified 7 out of 9 things, or 77.78%, receiving 5 points, but lost 2 points for choosing the same sense as Josh, making her total 3 points.

Josh Thomas: Josh showed off his taste by having Tom feed him as many things as possible while he kept his eyes shut. He correctly identified 24 out of 31 things, or 77.41%, receiving 4 points, but lost 2 points for choosing the same sense as Jenny, making his total 2 points.

Lloyd Langford: Lloyd showed off his hearing by having Tom drop several fruits and a bag of crisps as he lay on the floor blindfolded. After the mandarin rolled toward him and touched him, he still misidentified it as the banana. He correctly identified 4 out of 6 things, or 66.67%, receiving 3 points.

Wil Anderson: Wil showed off his sense of touch by creating a sketch where he appeared to touch the finger of a god. When Tom G asked him if he believed in God, he diplomatically claimed to believe in "all the gods," so his success rate was measured as 1 out of innumerable gods, and he received 1 point.

Trivia[]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • In the studio, Josh claimed that he had shown off his taste better because Jenny had picked what things to taste herself, while he'd had no idea what he was about to taste. Jenny rebutted that her method was more scientific, because she’d chosen things with the same texture in order not to rely on her sense of touch, while Josh had two variables at play. Anne then exasperatedly shouted, “Everyone here is a nerd,” the episode’s name.
