The task was presented on a plate of snooker balls. The contestants had to put up a shelf for all of the Taskmaster's snooker balls, with the snooker balls having to be at the Taskmaster's eyeline, which was 76 inches, and the only thing on the shelf.
Performance[]
Alan Davies: Alan initially tried to hang a tray containing the snooker balls on a fence, before stacking a wheelie bin, a sledge, a stool, a set of bricks and a tray to construct his shelves. He put up the shelves in 13 minutes, which was 77.5 inches. He had an average score from the two criteria of 3.5 points, rounding up to 4 points.
Desiree Burch: Desiree taped two lengths of wood together and tried to balance it on some nails, ending up supporting the shelf herself with her body. She put up the shelf in 19 minutes which was 77 inches tall. She had an average score from the two criteria of 3 points.
Guz Khan: Guz put a cupboard door up against the fence, attaching it with tape so the two things were connected. He put up the shelves in 7 minutes, which was 73 inches tall. He had an average score from the two criteria of 3 points.
Morgana Robinson: Morgana initially dragged a set of shelves from the shed, but put them up upside-down, struggling to make a shelf balance on top. She eventually turned the shelves around and used a caravan couch cushion as the top shelf. She put up the shelf in 17 minutes, which was 78 inches tall. She had an average score from the two criteria of 2.5 points, rounding up to 3 points.
Victoria Coren Mitchell: Victoria immediately grabbed a set of shelves from the shed, almost getting hit in the head by the top shelf which fell off, before putting the snooker balls on top of it. She put up the shelf in 3 minutes, which was 71.5 inches tall. She had an average score from the two criteria of 3 points.

- During this task, Morgana Robinson is ridiculed for asking Alex Horne to search "how tall is Greg" online to find out his height - with no surname. In actuality, simply searching this term does in fact show Greg Davies' height.
- During Victoria Coren Mitchell's attempt, a shelf slid off of the frame, only missing her head by a few inches. According to Alex Horne, this was the closest the show had gotten to a "serious injury".
