Patatas the cat is a prop featured from Series 2 of Taskmaster.

Tasks[]

  • The episode Welcome to Rico Face. (Series 2, Episode 4) featured a task where the contestants had to rescue Patatas from a tree.
  • The episode There's strength in arches. (Series 2, Episode 5) featured a team task where the contestants had to make a stop-motion film starring a potato. In Doc, Joe and Katherine's film, Patatas played the villain's pet. In another task in the same episode, contestants had to get a pile of shopping into a shopping trolley; Patatas was part of the pile.
  • In Series 5, Patatas can often be seen sat in an upturned hat beside Greg's portrait.
  • The episode Residue around the hoof. (Series 5, Episode 4) featured a task where the contestants had to spot differences in a scene; one difference was Patatas replacing a toy squirrel. In another task in the same episode, the contestants had to sneeze; Bob Mortimer unsuccessfully tried to make himself sneeze by sticking Patatas' tail up his nose.
  • The episode Spoony Neeson. (Series 5, Episode 6) featured a task where the contestants had to record the most incredible footage. Aisling's short film began with "Spoony Neeson" stroking their pet cat, played by Patatas.
  • The episode Boing boing. (Series 5, Episode 7), featured a task where the contestants had to make a flick-book film. Both Sally's and Nish's films featured Patatas.
  • The episode I've sinned again. (Champion of Champions, Episode 2), featured a task where the contestants had to blow something substantial off the table. Patatas was one of the things Noel attempted to blow during his preparation time.
  • The episode The perfect stuff. (Series 7, Episode 7), featured |a team task where the contestants had to make an extension to the Taskmaster House. Jessica and Kerry built a cat flap into their extension, to be used by Patatas.
  • The episode A documentary about a despot. (Series 10, Episode 2), featured a team task where the contestants had to find the hidden treasure. Among the treasure was Patatas wearing a crown.
  • The episode Chip Biffington. (Series 14, Episode 5), featured a prize task where contestants had to bring in the most useless thing that they've bought that cost over £20. Fern Brady brought in a leash for a cat, which Patatas wore for its photo.
  • The episode A new business end. (Series 14, Episode 9) featured a task where contestants had to perform a one-minute play. Munya's performance of Fern's play featured Patatas as a talking cat.
  • The episode Old Honkfoot. (Series 15, Episode 5), featured a live team task where the contestants had to stuff all of the items into one person's waders. Patatas was one of the items given to Frankie and Ivo's team, while Jenny, Kiell and Mae had his brother, Huevos.
  • The episode Skateboard Division. (Series 16, Episode 5) featured a task where contestants had to create a gang. Sue's gang included Patatas.
  • The episode Jumungo. (Series 17, Episode 2) featured a task where the contestants had to rescue Patatas from the Dome.
  • The episode I'm a girl who likes a clean line. (Series 18, Episode 4) featured a live team task where contestants had to gather a herd with 22 legs. Patatas was amongst the herd alongside his brother, Huevos[1].
  • The episode Captain Jackie and the hotdog. (Series 18, Episode 7) featured a task where the contestants had to ring a bell, and were presented with ropes, none of which were attached to a bell. Pulling the 10th rope released Patatas.
  • The episode Getaway sticks. (Series 19, Episode 9) featured a task where the contestants had to complete a multitask which ended with them having to release Patatas from a safe and feed him his elixir.

Trivia[]

  • Patatas is the Spanish word for potatoes, a nod to both the recurring use of potatoes and the Salvador Dali motif used in Series 2, in which he first appeared. Likewise, Patatas' brother Huevos' name is the Spanish word for "Eggs".
  • According to Alex's analysis, he is down to the last of his nine lives. Patatas now spends time in search of a magical elixir to restore some of these lives.
