Taskmaster Wiki

Make the scales register and flash the biggest weight from the mat was a task featured on Season 3 of Taskmaster Australia, as the fourth task in Sorry about the fingers. The task was won by Rhys Nicholson.

Summary[]

The task was presented outside, on a wall made to look like a bathroom floor, with a toilet, a toilet brush, a bin, scales, and Tom Cashman “standing” by the toilet. The contestants had to register the most weight on the scales, from the mat a few metres from the wall.

Performance[]

Aaron Chen: Aaron moved the scales onto the mat and had Tom drive the ute onto them, but the muddy ground caused the scales to only register a fraction of the ute's weight before breaking. He registered 20.5kg on the scales, receiving 4 points.

Concetta Caristo: Concetta spent the whole task believing the mat was magically connected to the scales. She kept putting things on the mat, including Tom, herself, the bath, the wheelbarrow, the giraffe, the ute, and combinations thereof, and got increasingly exasperated with Tom when the scales’ readout wouldn’t budge from 0. She registered 0kg on the scales, receiving 1 point.

Mel Buttle: Mel repeatedly tried to make a surfboard fall onto the scales, then threw various objects at them, then asked Tom to press his hands against the scales. She registered 7.4kg on the scales, receiving 2 points.

Peter Helliar: Peter pressed an oar against the scales, but couldn’t keep it steady. He then pressed a long wooden stick against the scales and used a lifejacket to steady it. He registered 16.5kg on the scales, receiving 3 points.

Rhys Nicholson: Rhys pressed an umbrella against the scales, using a ladder to steady it. They registered 25.9kg on the scales, receiving 5 points.
