Find the treasure was a team task featured on Series 10 of Taskmaster, as the second task in A documentary about a despot. The task was won by Katherine Parkinson and Mawaan Rizwan.
Setup[]
Location | Taskmaster House |
---|---|
Equipment | Briefcase, candle, blowtorch, ultraviolet light, shovel, pin-hole camera |
Measurement | Fastest wins |
Summary[]
The task was presented on a briefcase. The contestants had to find the treasure by following the clues. The shovel's handle read "Encyclopaedia 22", leading to a message written on the side of the book, that was revealed with an ultraviolet torch, saying: "Doormat". Under the doormat, there was a map of the shed revealing the location of the pin-hole camera. Using the camera with the briefcase, it revealed a message saying "Pull sink". Inside of the candle, there was a key for the caravan, where the sink was located. By pulling the sink, it revealed a secret passage leading to treasure.
Performance[]
Daisy May Cooper & Richard Herring: Daisy and Richard started checking a random book they found, thinking it was encyclopaedia 22, prompting Richard to check the fridge for bacon as the book mentioned Francis Bacon. After some prompting from Alex to use the ultraviolet light, then managed to solve the rest of the clues. They found the treasure in 18 minutes and 55 seconds, receiving 4 points each.
Johnny Vegas: Johnny made random noises every minute including: Richard Nixon's "I'm not a crook", a typewriter, a chimpanzee, mooing and an engine. As he did not make increasingly louder noises, he received 4 points.
Katherine Parkinson & Mawaan Rizwan: Katherine and Mawaan managed to find the pin-hole camera immediately, discovering the message in the briefcase. After checking the sinks in the house, they realised it was in the caravan, using a blowtorch to melt the camera and retrieve the key. They found the treasure in 17 minutes and 34 seconds, receiving 5 points each.
Trivia[]
- As the three-person team recorded their team tasks under social distancing restrictions, whilst the two-person team did not, Johnny had to sit on the umpire's chair for social distancing reasons.
