Fill your basket with hot chips was a task featured on Season 2 of Taskmaster Australia, as the second task in Don't slip on the chips old man. The task was won by Wil Anderson.
Summary[]
There were several balloons on the lab ceiling, filled with various kinds of chips (including hot chips, microchips, poker chips, and wood chips). The contestants had to catch the most hot chips in their frying basket, whilst wearing the helmet with a seagull on top with a spike on its beak. Hot chips that fell on floor were out of play, and if another kind of chip entered the basket, they had to empty it. Some of the balloons contained vouchers for Tom Cashman to deliver a large serving of hot chips to the basket, which would take 2 minutes.
Performance[]
Anne Edmonds: Anne took some balloons down to pop them, then had Tom get her a pair of scissors to cut balloons open and empty them into her basket. Near the end of her attempt, she got her seagull helmet caught in the lab’s plastic curtain. She ended up with 40 chips in her basket that were still hot, receiving 4 points.
Jenny Tian: Jenny kept tilting her seagull back and had to jump at the balloons, leading her to assume she was at a height disadvantage. After collecting some hot chips, she caught a different chip and had to empty the basket. She ended up with 1 chip in her basket, receiving 1 point.
Josh Thomas: Josh caught a poker chip at the beginning, but then successfully caught many more hot chips, though he started to worry after not getting any feedback from Tom. He ended up with 31 chips in his basket, receiving 3 points.
Lloyd Langford: Lloyd kept having to empty the basket when he caught different chips, and joked that the loud popping sounds made him feel like JFK. He ended up with 2 chips in his basket, receiving 2 points.
Wil Anderson: Wil kept accidentally popping balloons and catching hot chips as he walked around. He then caught three chip vouchers and redeemed two of them. Tom delivered the chips to Wil’s basket in the last few seconds, then slipped on the sauce on the floor and fell on his face. Wil ended up with 332 chips in his basket, receiving 5 points.
Trivia[]
Behind the Scenes[]
- In the studio, Wil said that throughout his attempt, Tom had patronisingly warned him, “Don’t slip on the chips old man,” the episode’s name, before taking a fall himself.
- At one point in his attempt, Josh said “Oink Oink Bitches,” the fourth episode’s name.
