- The Taskmaster opens the episode with "Hello, and welcome to MasterTask" and reverses the initials of his name. This is a reference to MasterChef, another program that airs on Channel 10.
- "Hundreds and thousands" in the live task refers to tiny balls of multicoloured sugar, typically sprinkled over desserts.
