Efficiently shell an egg was a task featured on Series 15 of Taskmaster, as the third task in It's my milk now. The task was won by Mae Martin.
Setup[]
Location | Taskmaster House |
---|---|
Equipment | Eggs |
Timing | 10 minutes |
Measurement | Fewest pieces of egg-less shell |
Summary[]
The task was presented on the table alongside five eggs. The contestants had to efficiently shell an egg into the fewest pieces of egg-less shell. The middle egg was raw, indicated by signs under each egg saying Frankie (to represented boil, as in "Frankie Boyle") and Jenny (to represent raw, as in "not Frankie Boyle"). There was also a shelling machine with instructions on the shelf in the lab.
Performance[]
Frankie Boyle: Frankie decided to try and find the hardest boiled egg by dunking the eggs into a tank of water, before using a teatowel to shell the egg. He had 83 pieces of egg-less shell, receiving 1 point.
Ivo Graham: Ivo tested out the weights of the eggs before putting on rubber gloves. He then realised he had very little time left so got a knife and carved the shell off the egg. He had 13 pieces of egg-less shell, receiving 3 points.
Jenny Eclair: Jenny tapped each egg to see if they were real before taking off her shoe. She then put the egg in a tea towel and used a spoon to try and remove all of the boiled egg, eating the egg and as many small pieces of shell that she could. She had 20 pieces of egg-less shell, plus the pieces she ate, receiving 2 points.
Kiell Smith-Bynoe: Kiell tried rolling the eggs over the table before selecting the middle one and using a caliper to break open the egg, realising he had selected a raw egg. He had 6 pieces, of egg-less shell, receiving 4 points.
Mae Martin: Mae initially picked up the eggs with their feet before then picking up each egg with their mouth to test them, attempting to find the raw egg. Whilst testing the middle egg, Mae dropped the egg on the floor, breaking the raw egg. They had 3 pieces of egg-less shell, receiving 5 points.
