Draw the monster is a task featured in Series 19 of Taskmaster, as the third task in Maybe we're the monsters. The task was won by Jason Mantzoukas.
Setup[]
Location | Taskmaster House |
---|---|
Equipment | Car, canvas, pens, costumed staff (monster, bird, alligator, bear, lollipop lady, police), driver license, cleaning supplies, parking ticket, acrobatic ribbons |
Measurement | Most accurate picture |
Summary[]
The task was presented inside a car and the contestants are sat in the driver's seat of a car with a canvas leaning against the steering wheel. They had to create the most accurate picture of the man in a monster suit, which was a green dragon with five orange and yellow spots, long purple tongue, yellow belly with a black striped with purple hair, five white eyes, sharp teeth, pink wings, and has six bear limbs.
There are several distractions involving driving, such as:
- Multiple other animals in the roads
- A lollipop lady appearing in front of the car to let the animals cross
- A policewoman warning the contestant about the no parking zone and demanding their driving license (which was in the glovebox and was actually the monster's licence, complete with photo)
- An animal cleaning the windshield
- A policewoman offered the contestant a parking ticket which ordered them to turn on their hazard light within 20 seconds or pay a fine of 8 pens
- Alex wanting a hitchhike
- A lollipop monster replacing the lollipop lady
- The animals getting inside the car
Performance[]
Fatiha El-Ghorri: Fatiha kept concentrating on the monster details and also at one point ignoring Alex's offer. She ended up drawing a green tardigrade with brown hands and no "head", receiving 3 points.
Jason Mantzoukas: Jason initially panicked as he didn't know was a lollipop lady was. When she appeared he realised and kept drawing. He ended up drawing a vague description of the colour of the monster with round head and green outline for the body, receiving 5 points.
Mathew Baynton: Mathew just kept concentrating on the monster details. He ended up drawing a green dragon with a crudely smiley face, spikey pink hair, and very bad doddle hands, receiving 4 points.
Rosie Ramsey: Rosie found the monster's driving license and ended up having an existential crisis over it, thinking she was the monster. She ended up drawing a totally different monster, a silly and sassy green four-armed bear which looked like roadkill, receiving 1 point.
Stevie Martin: Stevie stated that she was unlicensed and also ended up paying her pens for not turning on her hazard lights. She ended up drawing of a hulking green yeti who having five "green coats" on at once, receiving 2 points.

- The monster name was "Wow Monster", named after Alan Davies' attempt of the Make a noise without the Taskmaster identifying you task in Caring Uncle Minpict.
