Taskmaster Wiki

Create an original mantra / Live by another contestant's mantra was a task featured on Season 2 of Taskmaster Australia, as the third task in Oink Oink Bitches. The task was won by Anne Edmonds.

Summary[]

Both parts of the task were pegged to a washing line in the office, next to a plush cat. In the first part of the task, the contestants had to come up with the most original mantra and turn it into a motivational poster. In the second part, another contestant's poster was also pegged to the washing line, and they had 20 minutes to live by its mantra. They were only scored on how well they followed each other's mantras.

Performance[]

Anne Edmonds: Anne was given Josh’s mantra, “Oink Oink Bitches.” She did three dramatic sketches with Tom, which all ended with her saying the mantra as a catchphrase and shooting him. She received 5 points.

Jenny Tian: Jenny was given Lloyd’s mantra, “Don’t drop your pasta until the water is boiling,” a piece of advice he had gotten from Anne. She boiled a pot of water in the kitchen, then dropped in pasta when she saw a few bubbles. After she left, Tom checked the water temperature, and it was only 52.2°C. As Jenny failed to live by the mantra, she received 1 point.

Josh Thomas: Josh was given Anne’s mantra, “You are the field by which you can choose to plow.” He chose to plow his own field by following his own mantra, “Oink Oink Bitches.” He had Tom get him a plate of kimchi-and-cheese toasties and four beers, then the two of them went out on the lake in the boat. He received 4 points.

Lloyd Langford: Lloyd was given Wil’s extremely original mantra: "take Your Life Every Second DAY-BY-DAY* (*rest every second day / *CEOs especially, redistribute your wealth / *especially cats, reflect on how you got into this mess).” He decided to divide his time into two days, distributing his cash to the crew in the first 10 minutes, then lying on the floor for the next 10 while Tom played the recorder. He received 3 points.

Wil Anderson: Wil was given Jenny’s mantra, “Risk existence, go the distance.” He made a sketch where he went to space with a cat, and then the two left the ship and floated away. He received 2 points.
