Summary[]
The first part of the task was presented on the table, containing a key. The contestants had to make the key difficult but possible to retrieve. The second part of the task was presented on the table next to Alex holding a boom mic. The contestants had to answer Alex's phone call, using a phone in a hidden locked box in the piano. The key the contestants had previously put in a difficult position would be used to unlock the box, and they were not allowed to break the box. Every time the contestants found a cuddly toy, they had to carry it, and the contestants had to be noisier than 50dB for over 50% of the task. There were fake ringtones set up around the house including: a tape recorder in the lab; a tape in the dome; and a phone in the shed.
Performance[]
Ardal O'Hanlon: Ardal ended up throwing his key into the bush. During the second part of the task, Ardal initially chased Alex around the room, whilst growling, trying to get his phone, before realising he had to find the phone Alex was calling. He found the fake ringtones in the lab, dome and shed, but quickly found the box and the key. He answered Alex's phone call in 10 minutes and 12 seconds, receiving 5 points.
Bridget Christie: Bridget decided to put the key in her boot, making it difficult for someone else to retrieve it. During the second part of the task, Bridget was initially flustered about what she had to do, ending up walking around the house in circles carrying a bin bag full of cuddly toys whilst banging a saucepan. After lying on the floor banging her pan, Bridget eventually found the box, easily retrieving the key from her boot. She answered Alex's phone call in 23 minutes and 1 second, receiving 1 point.
Chris Ramsey: Chris attached the key to a metal ring, and threw it into the tree. During the second part of the task, Chris found the fake ringtones in the lab, dome and shed, but quickly found the box, struggling to retrieve the key. He answered Alex's phone call in the second fastest time, receiving 4 points.
Judi Love: Judi initially tried to hang the key from a garden arch, but ended up throwing it in the bush. During the second part of the task, Judi found the fake ringtones in the lab, dome and shed, putting the cuddly toys in a shopping trolley whilst strolling around the house, struggling to retrieve the key. She answered Alex's phone call in the third fastest time, receiving 3 points.
Sophie Duker: Sophie put the key in a little basket, then climbed a tree to put the basket on a branch. During the second part of the task, Sophie managed to find the fake ringtones in the lab, dome and shed, putting the cuddly toys down her trousers to carry them, quickly retrieving the key from the tree. She answered Alex's phone call in 19 minutes and 5 seconds, receiving 2 points.
